Though the landscape might look barren, some of the great wild edibles we have in Jersey come from our shores. As the tide retracts each day a treasure trove of flavours and health benefits are awaiting us.

Having some of the biggest tidal ranges in the world means that along the southeast coast, huge areas of land uncover twice a day. As the tide recedes, the remnant of that ancient landscape becomes visible for a brief period before disappearing again. A spot here that is dry at low tide can have up to 11 metres of water covering it at high tide.
